Amphenol presents a series of new commercial connector products - surface mount Pin Headers and PCB Sockets, designed for board to board and board to cable interconnect , with single or dual row.

New High Speed Connector Series

Amphenol introduces it's newest High Speed Connector Series, a 20 position SFP connector and cage series for mounting to a host PCB with a metal cage enclosing the connector. These connectors are similar to the Gigabit Interface Converter Interface (GBIC), but they are smaller in size and operate at much faster data transfer rates.

LUSB Connector Series

The standard USB connector uses a push pull interface with no latching. It relies on the design of the mating interface and the ground tabs to maintain the connection of the plug to the receptacle. Currently there are applications in a number of markets where vibration and inadvertent separation of the cable is a potential problem due to loss of data when the mated interface is accidentally broken.

Rugged Product Series

Amphenol's rugged series is a line of harsh environment connectors designed specifically for the demanding Industrial and InfoCom applications. This rugged connector ID series consists of an all metal die cast shell that can accept a variety of connector styles. The receptacle incorporates a spring loaded environmental cover that protects and seals the receptacle when unmated. Also when mated this cover acts as a positive latching device with the plug connector.
